Visit Old Uppsala

Old Uppsala (Gamla Uppsala) is one of the most remarkable ancient sites in the Nordic countries. The are many myths surrounding this area and numerous legends about mighty Svea kings, heathen temples, human sacrifice and blót feasts. The area has one of Sweden’s largest and most important burial sites, containing 300 mounds from the 6th to 12th century.

Explore the area and see the Gamla Uppsala church built in the 12th century, with a rune stone walled into its façade. You can also visit the Gamla Uppsala museum, which is great for children as well as adults, to learn more about the history of the area and discover the artefacts found in the burial mounds.

Storvretacupen 2020/2021 is canceled

The board of Storvreta IBK has made the difficult decision to cancel the Storvretacupen 2020/2021. After consulting with the Swedish Public Health Agency, the Infection Control in the Uppsala Region, the County Administrative Board, the Police and Destination Uppsala, we have come to the conclusion that the cup cannot be carried out due to the risk of increased spread of infection.
